Die Erfahrung der Zeitlichkeit, wie sie die Naturfotografie ins Spiel bringt, erlaubt eine Annäherung an das Phänomen der Heterochronie. Es dauert hunderte Millionen Jahre, bis sich die Linien der Blutadern eines Insektenflügels ausbilden, mit dessen Hilfe das Lebewesen blitzschnelle Bewegungen ausführt, jenes Lebewesen, das vielleicht nicht länger als einen Tag lebt, vergänglich wie der Schlagschatten, der sich durch ein streifendes Licht abzeichnet, den festzuhalten der Fotograf wiederum stundenlang bis zum passenden Moment gewartet haben muss.

Almost twenty years later, there is little left of this vision.
